El Salvador and S.A.R.A. 2007

In 2006 I first worked with the S.A.R.A. Project, a relief and reconstruction group affiliated with the UCC Church. While there I was introduced to the story of the currileros or clam diggers who work in the Pacific coastal mangrove forests. I wrote a grant to make a film about them and other labor and social issues in El Salvador. S.A.R.A. approved the grant and in June and July of 2007 I returned to El Salvador with a delegation and then stayed on for a month to film and photograph the story.
